United Nations Environment Programme (“UNEP”).
Among its governing bodies, it has a Governing Council and a Committee of Permanent Representatives. It works with a number of advisory groups, and in particular, the World Meteorological Association. UNEP and WMO worked together to establish the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (“IPCC”), a panel which collects scientific information as it relates to climate change. Nation states report to them on their current state of progress and the IPCC releases its reports roughly every 5 or 6 years.
